Application Note: Specifically engineered for VAG PQ25/PQ26 platform models (VW Polo 6R/6C/Vivo, Up!) equipped with standard mechanical ignition lock cylinder housings. Important Fitment Note: Disconnect the negative battery terminal prior to installation to avoid accidental airbag deployment or electrical short circuits. Remove the upper and lower steering column plastic shrouds to access the rear of the ignition lock barrel housing. Carefully release the dual retention screws or spring locking tabs securing the electrical contact block to the mechanical cylinder. Align the key blade shaft pin precisely with the internal slot of the new switch, push until fully seated, tighten retention hardware, and test all key positions (OFF, ACC, ON, START) before reassembling the column cover.
