Description

Positioned at the rear of the cylinder head, this high-tensile chain drives the intake camshaft off the exhaust camshaft, which is driven by the primary front timing belt. Constructed with heat-treated alloy steel links, a heavy-duty hydraulic tensioner element, and a precision VVT camshaft adjuster hub, this kit directly resolves rear camshaft chain stretch and tensioner shoe wear. Thoroughly clean the rear camshaft housing sealing face before fitting. Always replace the hollow oil control housing seals and ensure dedicated VAG camshaft alignment tools are used to clamp both camshafts at Top Dead Center (TDC) prior to undoing the central VVT adjuster bolt.
